The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 Director, Arnel M. Director Agabe urged sustained efforts to make Region 8 more responsive and to elevate the standard of public service in pursuit of good local governance.

β€œLet this event be a symbol of our commitment to ensuring Region 8 will become more responsive. From the achievements we had, let us sustain our performance so that our best efforts can become exceptional and exemplary,” RD Agabe said.

The ceremony also featured a brief orientation on the guidelines outlined in Memorandum Circular 2024-006, focusing on the implementation of the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund 2023.

Joining the 33 LGUs represented by their Local Chief Executives and representatives were DILG 8 Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Darwin N. Bibar, City and Provincial Directors, CLGOO of Ormoc, Cluster heads, City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer, PDMU Chief, and the rest of the PDMU Personnel.

The SGLG Incentive Fund, stemming from the long-standing Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) established in 2010, reflects the DILG’s commitment to performance-based reforms, rationalizing intergovernmental transfers, and fostering the convergence of local and national development priorities. The event symbolizes a shared dedication to ensuring the continued progress and responsiveness of Region 8 towards exceptional and exemplary governance.
