In an effort to promote general welfare for children in the region, DILG Region 8 conducted the Regional Reorientation on the 2023 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) using the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance-Knowledge Management System (SCFLG-KMS) via a hybrid platform on January 25, 2024.

The SCFLG-KMS primarily aims to automate the current manual processes of the CFLGA and SCFLG for the data and information gathered from the audit to be used as bases for policy, plan, program, and service development, implementation, and monitoring.

The reorientation highlighted the discussion regarding the updates on the SCFLG-KMS, which was facilitated by Mr. Francis Genell R. Berida and Lennon Duke A. Duero of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office 8.

Moreover, during his message, DILG Region 8 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe emphasized the significant leap in terms of CFLG Passers, with 68 (47.5%) local government units passing the 2022 assessment from 30% in 2019 and 29.3% in 2022.

“Let this also be a reminder that by fostering child-friendly communities, we are investing in a future that is not only prosperous but compassionate, inclusive, and driven by the well-being of every individual,” RD Agabe concluded.

The reorientation was attended by the Regional/City/Provincial/Municipal Inter-agency Monitoring Task Force headed by the DILG Focal Persons and City/Municipal Local Governance Operations Officer, Local Chief Executives, and Civil Society Organization (CSO) representatives.
