In recognition of their exemplary performance in being a Lupong Tagapamayapa, Barangay Cavite, Alangalang, Leyte bagged the 2nd runner-up spot for the Lupong Tagamapayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) on December 11, 2023, at the Manila Hotel.

Barangay Cavite is conferred in the said category with their programs and practices implemented, which shows their commitment to effectively administer the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) in their barangay. Aside from the Lupons’ initiative for transparency, such as posting the KP process through printed materials and on social media, the Lupon also utilizes the Public Address System (PAS), which airs important facts about the KP Program and raises the constituent’s awareness. The program is called “Tingog han Katarungang Pambarangay” and is aired every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for 15 minutes.

During the awarding ceremony held today, DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr., congratulated the Lupons for their unending support of the programs of the DILG and for continuously practicing the whole-of-a-nation approach to governance.

The LTIA is an annual recognition that grants benefits and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa for their exemplary performance in preserving peace and order within the barangay. As an incentive for their efforts in creating a peaceful community, the barangay received a plaque and P200,000.00.
