To recognize the 32nd anniversary of the Local Government Code, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 took the lead in organizing the 2023 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) Regional Awarding Ceremony. The event, held at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City on October 26, 2023, served as a significant tribute to exceptional local initiatives.

During the ceremony, DILG 8 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe delivered his opening message, extending his heartfelt congratulations to all the regional awardees. He lauded their unwavering commitment to the effective administration of Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) in their respective localities.

This recognition was timely, as it coincided with the theme of this year’s Local Government Month, “Serbisyo para ha mas Mahimyang ngan Madasigon nga Rehiyon Otso,” highlighting the dedication and outstanding performance of the Lupons in preserving peace and order within their barangays.

The following outstanding Lupons were recognized in the 2023 LTIA Implementation, categorized by class:

1st–3rd Class:

Brgy. Daganas, Catarman, Northern Samar – 2nd Runner-up

This significant event was graced by Dir. Dennis Villaseñor of DILG-National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) as the guest of honor, along with the LTIA Regional Awards Committee (LnB, DOJ, and PNP), the honored Lupon Regional Awardees, dedicated MLGOO and CLGOO awardees, LTIA Provincial Focal Persons, Provincial Directors, and personnel of the DILG Region 8.

LTIA is a prestigious award presented annually to recognize exceptional Lupons who consistently demonstrate the ability to impartially and efficiently resolve cases referred to them.
