To prepare field interviewers for the upcoming Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) data collection activities, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8, in collaboration with Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), conducted the “Cascading Fieldwork Protocols to Field Interviewers” training and orientation session on May 21, 2025 at the EVSU Main Campus, Tacloban City.
The orientation aimed to equip field interviewers with a comprehensive understanding of CSIS fieldwork protocols, including data sampling procedures, effective interview techniques, and proper data processing methods. The training featured a hands-on workshop to reinforce the practical application of these protocols.
In her opening remarks, EVSU Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services Dr. Analyn C. Espano emphasized the vital role of field interviewers in ensuring accurate data collection. She noted that their contributions are essential in shaping Citizen Satisfaction and Project Implementation Reports which inform policy and local governance improvements.
LGOO V Jenna A. Negros, DILG CSIS Focal Person, provided an in-depth presentation on the CSIS project’s objectives, methodologies, and interview design. She also guided the participants through the questionnaire and survey procedures.
A key highlight of the activity was a field simulation conducted in one of Tacloban City’s barangays that allowed all fifteen field interviewers to apply their training in a real-world setting.
The event was attended by the CSIS EVSU Team, including Mr. Rustom D. Clemente, Dr. Richard S. Brun, Mr. Stephen Paul Cajigas, and Ms. Hanna Rachil Gohil, along with the participating Field Interviewers.
Through the CSIS, DILG Region 8 fosters a culture of transparency and accountability within local government units in Eastern Visayas, ensuring that public services reach the grassroots and truly meet the needs of communities.
