TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 8 (DILG RO8) together with the DILG Capacitating LGUs on Resettlement Governance – Program Management Office (CLRG-PMO), the Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Office (DSWD CO) and DSWD Regional Office 8 (DSWD RO8) conducted the Regional Orientation on “Balik-Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Program” at Madison Park Hotel on September 15-16, 2022.

The orientation aims to increase the level of engagement and participation of the LGUs on the implementation of the BP2 program specifically; to discuss the purpose of the program, framework, key results areas, target beneficiaries, program governing council including the Regional Council, and the roles and functions of member agencies, to present the DILG Memorandum Circular (MC) for BP2 program with regards to the roles and responsibilities of the DILG Offices and LGUs (sending and receiving) on the implementation of each phase of the program and to encourage support and participation of LGUs (sending and receiving) for the implementation of the BP2 program.

The purpose of the BP2 program is to ensure balanced regional development and equitable distribution of wealth, resources, and opportunities through policies and programs that boost countryside development and inclusive growth, provide adequate social services, and promote full employment, industrialization, and improved quality of life in rural areas. A total of 32 participants attended the orientation.
