TACLOBAN CITY – The DILG Regional Office 08 conducts the Training on Road Safety Engineering via zoom online platform on August 8-9, 2022.
A total of 70 participants took part on the said training from the Regional and Field Offices, as well as from the Provincial Engineering Offices and Provincial Internal Audit Offices of Eastern Visayas. The said activity primarily aimed to assist the provinces in identifying measures to improve their capacity on road audit and guide them on how to introduce, mainstream and operationalize road safety in their road management.
Engr. Noel G. Nadera of the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 08 facilitated in the conduct of the said training, wherein he highlighted the measures on safety planning, safety design and control assessment, road signs and pavement markings.
Through the guidance of the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP), the Training on Road Safety Engineering was conducted to cater the needs of the PLGUs in terms of achieving the Governance Reform Areas, specifically on the Local Road Construction and Maintenance (LRCAM). The said area promotes on the road works implementation according to standards with quality control and quality assurance; streamline permitting system on quarrying.
