CEBU CITY – The DILG Regional Office 08 headed by Atty. Arnaldo E. Escober, Jr., with a delegation of more than One Hundred and Sixty (160) personnel joined the DILG FIELD OFFICERS’ NATIONAL CONVENTION Visayas Cluster with the theme, “Celebrating GAINS: Sustaining the LINK for GOLD” on May 26, 2022 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City.

The activity intended to gather all field officers from the Visayas Cluster to underline the accomplishments of the Department for the last six years, to further inspire our field officers into going beyond their assigned functions and to strengthen the rapport and harmony among DILG personnel.

It provided a great opportunity for all field officers to revitalize and reignite the appreciation of their roles as LINK or Local Governance Experts, Innovators, Network Builders, and Knowledge Managers in their respective areas of responsibilities. The convention served as a venue for field officers to share their experiences, issues and challenges to the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) and the executives of the Department.

Participants of the event were DILG Regional Directors, DILG Assistant Regional Directors, DILG Provincial Directors, City Directors, Program Managers, Cluster Leads/Heads and City and Municipal Local Government Operation Officers.

The activity also highlighted the legacies of the outgoing DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año, wherein one of the milestones included his role as the GOLD or Governance Orchestrator for Local Development.
