In line with the activities of the Fire Prevention Month (March 2022), BFP Tacloban Fire Station held an orientation on Fire Safety and Fire Drill with the personnel of the DILG RO8 on April 1, 2022.

Fire Officer 3 Rowena C. Bulawan led the activity assisted by FO2 Eric Kim M. Inovejas. FO3 Bulawan discussed fire prevention measures and demonstrated the proper use of a fire extinguisher. It was emphasized that fire extinguishers must be properly maintained and stored. Electronic appliances should not be left unattended when in use and it was advised that households and offices should use good quality extension wires and to use these sparingly.

The emergency procedure during fire incidents was also thoroughly explained. Afterwards, the DILG RO8 personnel were given a firsthand experience of extinguishing fire through the use of fire extinguisher and the wet blanket technique.
